In a survey by the company “superbrands”, Aston Martin has come out top of the pile, and is now officially the UK’s coolest brand! Ahead of other motoring brands such as Ducati and Ferrari, and even ahead of now ubiquitous brands such as Apple and Bang & Olufsen.

Ok, fanfare out of the way, I’m not really that sure how valuable this is – I haven’t seen how they gathered the data and things like this are always so subjective. I think the good thing it does show though is that an English car brand is right up there in the thoughts of the people. After all the issues we’ve suffered with MG/Rover, moving car production out of the company etc, we still make damn good cars, and that is something to be celebrated. And what better way to celebrate than by hiring an officially “cool” Aston Martin!

Actually, we probably knew that Aston Martin was cool before this survey, as the only survey that matters – the TopGear Cool Wall of course – already had a special section for the DB9 it was so cool! I can’t wait to see what they do with the DBS!
